BOSTON

My cousin Adam and his wife Carolyn recently moved to Boston. I had a 5 day weekend so I decided to pay little baby Alex a visit. It was so fun to visit their family. It feels like just yesterday that Adam and I graduated from High school and took a trip to Europe. And just like our Europe trip, we spent late nights talking about everything and anything. I really enjoying spending time with baby Alex, Carolyn and Adam.

List of typical tourist items:
  • Freedom Trail
  • USS Constitution
  • Bunker Hill
  • Paul Revere's House
  • Salem Witch Museum
  • Harvard
  • Quincy Market
List of my non-tourist items:
  • Masonic Temple Open house
  • Rita's Water Ice
  • Local Artist Craft Fair
  • Sander's Theater @ Harvard
  • Julie Child's House
  • TJ Maxx
  • H & M
  • Goodwill
  • Magpie @ Davis Square

Carolyn was so sweet to pack up Alex each morning to take me out for the day. I was surprised by the chilly October weather. Alex was a happy camper, Carolyn bundled him up each time we went out. Boston was fun and I'm already making a list of things to do for next time.

Dominican Adventures

A summer's end. I was feeling the pressure of going back to work so I decided to run away with my family. Stacy and Mikaela were planning a month long service trip in the Dominican Republic working in a Haitian refugee camp. We had lots of fun fighting bugs and cleaning diabetic ulcers. The people in the village were so loving and kind to us. Rachel and Tanner came later in the week to add to our fun.

For my service project I decided to teach sewing lessons. We met a wonderful woman with 3 children. Anna taught me how to cook some yummy creole food after our sewing lessons. We laughed together as we tried to communicate. I learned 5 more spanish words during this trip. I'm up to 20 words!!

I went snorkeling for the first time and did not drown. The best part of the trip was not documented by pictures :( We went to the 27 waterfalls national park where we jumped and slid off crystal blue waterfalls. The whole trip was a great adventure in the sun.

(this is a picture of me in a "cave-pool." I was very nervous!!)

MEXICAN ADVENTURES

Swine Flu discount!! When i find a a cheap flight i text my friends to see who wants to go on an adventure. This time - Mexico city. The weekend after school got out.... we were on an airplane. My buddy from church came with me to visit an old ROC friend.

We spent a couple of days in Mexico city then prepared to make out way to Oaxaca. Tragically, I left my wallet (credit cards, ID, and ipod touch) in a wal-mart bathroom stall. I noticed it was gone as we were walking home. My wallet was long gone when we returned to the wal-mart. I was so sad :(

Oaxaca was full of culture. We stayed with a nice family who drove us everywhere. Lots of good food and good times. Next we hit the beach!! PUERTO ESCONDIDO-PERFECT!! A rustic beach town famous for surfing. I got my music fix from satellite TV and jumped in the pool each morning. My favorite part of the beach trip were the little baby turtles. I love baby/little anything. We released the little babies at sunset. I imagine my little guy swimming out to find his family.

It was a great little trip to start the summer off. I enjoyed learning 5 more spanish words. I officially know 10 spanish words now. OH YEAH!! I forgot to mention that i got my wallet back. The robbers were nice enough to return my wallet AND ipod. This is how i know that God loves me.

An adventureless Friday night

It's official. I have joined the blogging community. My super-cool-chill-BFF from afar helped me set up this blog.

I LOVE having adventures. My life is full of adventures.
Unfortunately, creation of this blog is due to lack of fun adventures :(

This blog will be a good way for me to document them. Thanks for helping me MEG!!

I will start this blog by documenting my recent travels.
